Why Escanaba calls us
Escanaba sits on Little Bay de Noc in Delta County, at the southern end of our service area. It is a regular run for us, and the pest profile here is genuinely different from the Lake Superior side of the peninsula.
The bay keeps Escanaba warmer and more humid than the Lake Superior shore, and that stretches the insect season at both ends. Mosquitoes stay active later into the fall here than they do on the north side of the peninsula, and the low, marshy ground near the water gives them more places to breed.
On the ground here
Standing water in low ground near the shore breeds mosquitoes from late spring into fall. Our seasonal program treats the shaded, humid resting areas around a property rather than fogging the open yard, which is what actually brings the numbers down.
Damp ground and damp foundations are what both want. We treat the perimeter and the entry points, and we deal with the moisture conditions that keep drawing them back.
The first cold nights send mice looking for shelter and send Asian lady beetles to the sunny side of the house in numbers. Treating the exterior before that happens is far easier than clearing them out afterward.
