Pest profile
They swarm windows and walls every fall. We treat exterior surfaces to keep them from getting in.
Often mistaken for harmless ladybugs, Asian lady beetles swarm UP homes every fall as they hunt for a warm place to overwinter. (One of our added residential services.)
Oval and about 1/4 inch long, ranging from orange to red, usually with black spots and a small 'M'-shaped mark just behind the head.
In autumn they gather on warm, sunny, south-facing walls and slip inside through cracks to overwinter, then sometimes reappear indoors on warm winter days.
Clusters on siding and around windows, and beetles indoors near lights and ceilings; when disturbed they can leave a yellowish staining fluid and a faint odor.
Mostly a nuisance, but large numbers indoors are hard to clear and can stain walls and fabrics.
Keep them out

Screen vents and repair damaged screens
Treat exterior surfaces ahead of the autumn swarm
Vacuum up any that get inside rather than crushing them
